DELAWARE COUNTY YOUTH ORCHESTRA'S NEW REHEARSAL FACILITYDCYO is pleased to announce that we have moved to a new rehearsal site at the beautiful and spacious facilities at Proclamation Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, starting September 2009. According to conductor Brad Smith, Proclamation “is exactly the kind of facility that DCYO members will enjoy using each week.” One of the main attractive features of this site is the spacious, high-ceilinged area provided by the church’s Fellowship Hall, where the orchestra rehearses. This rehearsal area includes a grand piano, available for our use every week, sufficient storage space for our percussion instruments, and more than enough classrooms for our sectional rehearsals. The church's administration allows us to continue to offer snacks and water for sale during rehearsal intermission. Parking is ample.
Because of the increased space, parents may find it easier to stay during rehearsal—or find it convenient to go to the local Wawa, less than a quarter mile north of the church. The Ludington Library (Bryn Mawr's excellent public library) is just a block farther on, past the Wawa.
The address for Proclamation Presbyterian Church is 278 South Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. The church is a quarter mile south of Haverford Road, near the American College. From Newtown Square, it is a short, easy ride up Bryn Mawr Avenue, which intersects West Chester Pike at the eastern end of Newtown Square.

GARNET VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
552 Smithbridge Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342
From Route 476 (Blue Route): North or South on 476 to Exit 5 (US 1; Springfield/Lima exit). Follow Route 1 South for approximately 7miles. You pass the Granite Run Mall. Turn left onto Valleybrook Road (Route 261). Continue on Valleybrook for 1 mile to Smithbridge Road. Turn Right onto Smithbridge – There is a small mini-market and post office at the intersection. Garnet Valley High is on the left about 2.2 miles down Smithbridge Road. You'll cross a four way stop intersection with blinking signals and then pass under an overpass just before finding the school driveway on your left. The school sits back from the road down a long driveway. The GVHS Performing Arts Center is located in the back, behind the high school building.
From Philadelphia: I-95 South to Exit 3A, Conchester Highway/Route 322 West. Continue for 5 miles on Route 322. Turn left onto Featherbed Lane (1/2 mile past the Clayton Park Golf Course). There is a small GVHS sign just before the intersection. (The road has a different name on the right – Mattson). Follow Featherbed Lane to the first stop sign-make a right onto Bethel Road. GVHS is on the right about 1/2 mile. School sits behind the Concord Elementary School – the driveway is just before the Elementary school – and is not visible when you turn into the driveway. Should you miss the turn at the driveway (easy to do), continue straight to the next stop sign. Turn right onto Smithbridge Rd. The GVHS Performing Arts Center is located in the back, behind the high school building.
From Route 202 South: Turn Left on Smithbridge Road. Smithbridge Road is the first light after 202 splits past Route 1. If you pass into the state of Delaware, you've gone too far. Continue on Smithbridge for about 3 miles. GVHS is on the right. Look for the sign at the driveway. If you go under an overpass you've gone about a block too far, the school sits back from the road down a long driveway. The GVHS Performing Arts Center is located in the back, behind the high school building.
WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY – SWOPE MUSIC BUILDING
817 S. High Street, West Chester, PA 19383. Parking is located across from the Music Building on the corner of E. Campus Drive and Matlack on Lot M.
From Philadelphia: Take Schuylkill Expressway (Rt. 76 West) to exit #328. Follow Rt. 202 South, West Chester, for approximately 20 minutes. Take US 322/W.High Street exit. Merge onto Route 322/S High St/Wilmington Pike.
From Western Pennsylvania (Pa. Turnpike): Take Pennsylvania Turnpike to exit #312, Downingtown. Follow signs for Rt. 100 South. Shortly after the intersection of Rts. 100 and 30, follow the signs for Pottstown Pike. Route 100 S. will become High Street in West Chester.
From points south: Take Rt. 95 North through Wilmington to the exit for Rt. 202 N. (Concord Pike). Continue north on 202. (From the intersections of Rts. 1 and 202, it is approximately seven miles to West Chester.) At the Holiday Inn proceed straight ahead under the overpass, following the signs for the Business District, Rt. 322.
